~ James is great at imitating animal noises. Elephant, monkey, sheep... all of that. So then we were driving down the freeway, and he turned to me and said, "I can speak semi." And then he immediately made a LOUD sound with his mouth, exactly like a semi's diesel engine.
~ James was driving us home late one night. He was gently teasing me about MY driving skills. Then, I noticed something funny.
Suz: Are your lights even on?
*quiet pause*
James: (shyly) No...
~ James sometimes mumbles in his sleep. I once woke up to him apologizing about something.
Suz: What?
James: Mumble mumble... Nevermind.
Suz: What? Are you okay?
James: I just need a minute.
Suz: For what?
James: To let it defrost...
~ James and I had a 4x4x8 beam cut into 4" blocks to paint and use as decorations. We painted 10 blocks for us, leaving us 14 to use for others. I suggested we paint some for someone else, and he wondered if we had enough blocks.
Suz: We only used 10, we should have plenty.
James: No, we used 12. See? (he then counted our blocks like this--) Two, four, six, eight, twelve.
He waited. I laughed. And then he realized why.
~ Driving in the car, again. James was so quiet for a part of our trip. Then, out of no where he says, "I just won the alphabet game."
~ 'Girls are like croissants.' Yeah, still waiting for an explanation on that one.
~ 'Sometimes I think vacuuming is a lost art.' I think he's trying to hint that I don't vacuum enough. :)
~'Would you like some complimentary soap? (holds up bar of soap) "Hello, you're looking great today!"'
~'If I had a nickel for every ounce of beautifulness in your body, I would be a millionaire. And I'm not calling you fat!'
Not to mention the hundreds of made-up songs he sings me, the dozens of flowers he's brought home, the countless times he's winked at me- made me dinner- or found my lost keys. I am such a lucky girl.
Happy 17 months and 10 days, darlin. You will forever be my favorite!
